NORTH-EAST favourite Bobby Pattinson will lead a comedy night in aid of charity tomorrow (Saturday, June 6).

The Bobby Pattinson and Friends event will raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity, which is best known for its specialist minibuses known as Sunshine Coaches which are used to transport sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to activities, events and attractions around the country.

Mr Pattinson will be joined by fellow comics Freddy “parrot face” Davies, Bobby Dennis and Steve Womack.

The fundraiser will be held at the Gala Theatre, Durham City, on Saturday at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15 for adults and £13 for concessions, are available at the Gala box office, online at galadurham.co.uk or by calling 03000-266-600.

Mr Pattinson’s act will be recorded for a new DVD, titled Still Laughing.

His efforts have already raised money to buy four coaches for Variety and he is now on his way to sponsoring a fifth.

He said: “So far I have raised around £100,000 for Variety and it is comedy shows like this one that are contributing greatly to the success of the charity and the work they do.”
