A COLLECTIVE energy scheme could see Darlington residents save money on energy bills.
The Big Community Switch scheme is currently underway in the town for the third time.
Residents have until midnight on Monday to sign up for the initiative, which sees national energy suppliers compete to offer the best prices for a group switch.
Those registered for the scheme could save money on gas and electricity bills by switching providers en masse.
On Tuesday, June 10 an auction will be held and the energy supplier providing the best tariff will offer participants a new contract on a no obligation basis.
All householders are eligible to join, including those living in rented accommodation or those with a pre-payment meter.
Businesses, residents and community groups can register for the free scheme by visiting bigcommunityswitch.ichoosr.com.
Registration can be done in person at Darlington Citizens Advice Bureau, which also offers help and support with energy switching.
A recent energy bill is required for registration.
