MAN’S best friend will take centre stage at a summer fair with a difference.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue is hosting a dog-themed summer show at its centre in Thirsk on June 8.
The event will have dog agility demonstrations and specialist dog stalls selling dog treats, photography, books and plants.
Children will be able to make their own dog toys for their pet or for rescue dogs at the centre and learn about dog body language.
Dogs are welcome on the day and can be entered into competitions for the waggiest tail or coolest pup – and people who don’t have a dog can meet some of the rescue dogs looking for a new home.
“Whether you’re a dog-owner or not, our summer show has something for everyone,” said area manager Kate Birkett.
“All the proceeds will help us to look after rescue dogs in our care before finding them the perfect new home.”
The event runs from 11.30am to 4.30pm. Admission is £1 and under-16s get in free.
