MEMBERS of Infinity will host an information point in the Shambles on Stockton High Street to highlight the many voluntary opportunities available in Stockton borough.

In recognition of Volunteers Week, which takes place in June, the pop up shop will be open from Monday until Saturday, June 7 from 10am - 3pm each day.

Infinity is a network of organisations working in the public and voluntary sector and includes Tees Credit Union, Stockton and District Advice and Information Service, Stockton Borough Council, housing association Thirteen, Christians Against Poverty, JobCentre Plus, Thrive and many more.

Chairman of Infinity and manager of Tees Credit Union, Diane Patterson, said: "Many organisations rely on the support of volunteers and their role in our communities is very much crucial to the ongoing success of many of these organisations.

"Right across the borough we have some really good volunteers doing excellent work, but we need more to support current volunteers and continually improve our services. "Volunteering has fantastic benefits for the individual too, as well as meeting new people, they have the opportunity to use their skills for the benefit of others and learn new skills, which will increase their future employment opportunities."
