HAPPY days of dancing at a Darlington pre-school have raised more than £150 for a children’s charity.
The boy and girls at Elm Ridge Methodist Church pre-school took part in a sponsored dance in aid of the charity Happy Days.
Strutting their stuff to music ranging from soul and RnB to Punjabi Bhangra, they raised £161 – with more donations still to come.
Pre-school manager Sue Walker said: “Dancing is great for children’s development and co-ordination – as well as being great fun.
“The event will also help children who are less advantaged than ours.”
Happy Days provides holidays and day trips for children with special needs, including many with life-limiting conditions.
The charity has helped more than 100,000 children since it was founded in 1992.
The pre-school has been based in the grounds of Elm Ridge Methodist Church, in Darlington’s west end, for more than 25 years.
It runs during term time from Monday to Friday between 9.15am and 12.15pm, and offers places for children aged two to four.
