ONE of the region’s most popular railway museums is appealing for volunteers.
The Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum will hold a volunteers open day on Friday, June 6.
The event, running in conjunction with Volunteers Week, has been organised in a bid to encourage people to sign up for volunteering opportunities at the museum.
Staff and current volunteers will be on hand on the day to give advice and information regarding their work.
Volunteers working at the museum can assist with guided tours, events and family activities as well as the upcoming North-East Railways WWI project.
Councillor Nick Wallis said, “Volunteering at the Museum is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and support our local heritage”.
For more information contact Sarah Gouldsbrough at the museum on 01325-460532.
