DOZENS of tractors travelled in convoy through the County Durham countryside to raise money for charity.
The 68 vehicles, which varied from modern to vintage, large and small, departed from Constantine Farm, near North Bitchburn, this morning (Monday) and headed into Weardale before crossing over Stanhope Ford to pass through Eggleston, Hamsterley Forest, Hamsterley village, Witton-le-Wear and Crook.
It was the first time for several years that the once-regular event had taken place and was raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
Billy Marley organised the event with his wife, Sheila, and the Flass Hall Vintage Tractor Club, from Esh Winning.
He said the fundraising total had yet to be finalised and added: “It was a very good event.
“There were no breakdowns or accidents and everyone came back happy and in one piece.
“It was a real team effort and a grand day.”
