FROM pork scratching vodka to venison delight, a festival dished up a real treat for food lovers who came in their droves despite the weather.
Food and drink of every size, shape and taste was on offer at the two day Malton Food Lovers Festival in Malton, North Yorkshire, with mini macaroons and sugar laden tiffin among the highlights.
But one of the major hits was pulled pork sandwiches with lashings of coleslaw, a dish championed by one of the two main stars of the event, Cyrus Todiwala of The Incredible Spice Men.
Yorkshire producers were out in force, but such is the popularity of Malton’s annual food festival stallholders travelled hundreds of miles to attend.
Beers, ciders, sweets, chocolates, chutneys, jams, cheese and oils were all on offer alongside meat and vegetables of every description.
Malton’s newly-opened cookery school drew the crowds, with top chef Jean-Christophe Novelli distributing his top culinary tips.
Channel 4’s Michela Chiappa and her sisters and Jake Jones, from James Martin’s restaurant at The Talbot Hotel, in Malton, also demonstrated their skills, including French classics, Italian delicacies and Yorkshire highlights.
