HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a music festival starring some of the country’s top tribute acts at the weekend.

Rain threatened to make the Wannasee live music tribute festival at Bishop Auckland Football Club’s Heritage Park stadium a washout yesterday (Saturday, May 24).

But the depleted audience still had a great time watching acts such as The Black Eyed Peaz, Bon Jovi Forever, Tribute 2 Elton John and Totally Gaga and today (Sunday, May 25) the line-up includes the Reet Hot Chilli Peppers, Guns or Roses, Green Date and The Killerz.

Organisers say the first music festival held at the stadium was such a success, despite the poor weather on Saturday, they are already planning a similar event next year.

John Brannan said: “The weather really let us down on the first day but those who did come said the bands were amazing.

“We will definitely be doing this again next year and we have learnt lessons and will make provisions for if it is raining again.

“At next year’s event you will either get sun burned or stay dry.”
