FAMILIES and young people are invited to creative, culinary and active sessions during the half-term holiday.

A creative fun day for families with children of school age takes place at Teesdale School, in Barnard Castle, on Tuesday, May 27, from 10am to 3pm.

The event includes felt-making, sculpting with wire, floral art, rainbow loom band-making and several informal craft activities such as working with beads, making cards and key rings.

Participants should register at 9.50am and workshops run from 10am to noon and 1pm to 3pm.

A buffet lunch costs £2 and will be served from noon to 1pm.

On Thursday, May 29, there will be sports, cooking and crafts sessions at the school for young people in school years five, six, seven and eight, from 10am to 3pm.

Places must be pre-booked and participants should bring a packed lunch.

Entry into all of the Big Lottery-funded activities, on both days, is free and open to youngsters from any school.
