Powerlifters aged 17 to 70 to compete in Durham

POWERLIFTERS will show their strength at a regional contest later this month.

The Yorkshire and North East Classic Benchpress Championships will be held at the Boathouse, Green Lane, Durham City, on Saturday, May 31.

The lift off is at 11am and there will be contests until the presentations at 2pm.

Almost 30 male and female lifters aged 17 to 70 will compete to be named YNE Divisional Champions and qualify for the British Championships.

The event is being promoted by Durham Powerlifters and the trophies made by sculptor James Anderson.

Entry to the public is free and the doors open at 10.30am.
