The final line up has been revealed for Bedale Music Festival with over 60 performers due from all over the country

The three day event starts on Thursday May 29 with concerts staged across the North Yorkshire town, including the Riverside Club, as well as at the festival site - the Big Sheep Little Cow farm - where a 250 seat marquee is being erected.

Headline acts include The Blues Band, who are performing two special sets as part of their current UK tour. Folk music legend Martin Carthy, County Durham singer-songwriter Jez Lowe, The Men They Couldn’t Hang, award-winning Babajack and Hartlepool folk trio The Young’uns are all scheduled to play in one of the eleven concerts.

Other activities are on offer including a heritage trail competition, plus a day of children’s activities including a pirate fancy dress contest, and craft market.

Organisers are also running a festival songwriting competition and music workshops. Spokesman John Knighton said: “Last year we had a great festival and this year is going to be bigger and better, with more concerts and a great variety of music across the entire weekend

“We have some great acts coming to Bedale and we want to give everyone the opportunity to see and hear some of the UK’s top musicians perform in their own town.”
