A CYCLIST was airlifted to hospital with serious arm injuries after she was knocked unconscious in a fall from her bike.
The 28-year-old woman, from North Tyneside, crashed as she rode in Hamsterley Forest, County Durham, today. (Sunday, May 11)
Road ambulance crews were dispatched at 12.20pm and found the woman concussed and in need of urgent medical care.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called and took the casualty to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle.
She arrived at hospital in a stable condition.
