WATCH out Wembley, West Auckland Town are on their way - and they are dressed to impress.

The squad are leaving the County Durham village at 9.30am today ahead of their FA Vase Final against Hampshire-side Sholing on Saturday.

And they will be dressed for the occasion in sharp suits donated by dehumidifier-manufacturer Ebac.

Amanda Hird, operations director at the Newton Aycliffe-firm, said: “The players look grand, which is what we would expect from a team of footballers who take the sport seriously and have done so well to reach a cup final at Wembley.

“They look professional and I think they deserve to be well dressed for the occasion.

“The experience of Wembley is unique and we want to make it complete and take it very seriously.

“But whatever the result, it is going to a very special day out.”

The team will also wear a specially commissioned cup final kit which, unlike the regular season shirts, will have their names on the back, funded by Ebac and marquee firmJeff Dobson.

General Manager Stuart Alderson said: “We want to make this as special and memorable as possible, we will look and feel like footballers when we walk out at Wembley.”

As well as thanking Ebac for the suits, Mr Alderson also praised Bishop Auckland sports store Lorimer Sports for sourcing and organising the cup final kits.

Ebac, who sponsor the Northern League in which West play, used to be based in neighbouring St Helen Auckland and Ms Hird said the company is keen to support the area, especially in sport.

She said: “We believe if we do well we want to put some of the profit back in to the community and supporting football is a great way to do that.”

Upon arrival in London the West team will be taken to the Imperial College Sports Ground in Harlington, the training ground of Championship side Queen’s Park Rangers.

After an hour’s session they will then head to Wembley for a look around the stadium before a quiet night at their hotel.

The squad will then return to Wembley at about 1pm on Saturday (May 10) ahead of the 3pm kick off.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £5 for children from ticketing.thefa.com
