POLICE have charged a 19-year-old man with murder following the discovery of a body at a house in Parliament Square, Middlesbrough.

The woman's body was discovered in the early hours of Saturday, May 3.

Although a formal identification is yet to be made detectives officers believe she is  a woman in her early 20s, originally from Eritrea in the Horn of Africa.

Confirmation is expected soon after police contacted  someone believed to be a relative.

The 19-year-old man is due to appear in court later this morning.
