DARLINGTON’S street champions and friends groups joined forces for a litter-picking event.
Street champions are volunteers who help make the town cleaner and a safer place to live by reporting environmental issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, smashed glass and dog fouling.
They are also responsible for organising litter picks in their local parks.
Friends groups help look after the town’s parks.
Street champions and friends group members joined members of Darlington Borough Council’s street scene team, as well as the town’s MP Jenny Chapman, for a litter-pick in South Park on Saturday (May 3) morning.
