THE following events are taking place in Darlington this week as part of Darlington Arts Festival. Darlington Film Club will host a screening of Seven Samurai, at The Forum, in Borough Road, at 8pm on Tuesday (May 6). Admission costs £3 at the door.

RAUNCHY READS: A dramatised reading entitled Raunchy Reads and Serious Sermons: A Geordie Library in the 18th Century will be held at Cafe Create, in Parkgate, from 7pm on Tuesday (May 6). Admission costs £4 at the door.

OPEN MIC: An Open Mic night will be held in The Forum on Wednesday (May 7). Admission is free. Doors open at 7pm.

WRITING TALK: Writer Tracey Iceton and fellow academics will talk about their postgraduate creative writing studies and read extracts from their work at the Health Warehouse Cafe, in Post House Wynd, at 6.30pm on Friday (May 9).
