NURSERY school children have been learning gardening skills.
Youngsters at the Clever Clogs Day Nursery, in Bowburn, have been taking part in a Grow Your Own programme, growing vegetables and flowers.
Experts have been teaching the children, aged three to five, to look after the vegetables by watering them properly.
The project will lead to a book being put together, charting the produce's progress.
A spokeswoman for Clever Clogs said: "We strongly believe in using wonderful interesting ideas to enhance children's learning and development.
"The first five years of a child's life are so important and at Clever Clogs we believe in getting it right first time."
