A GROUP of Prince’s Trust volunteers will embark on their latest project next week after moving into new premises.

The Bishop Auckland team, which was based at the Lightfoot Institute, Kingsway, has now relocated a short distance to Newgate Street.

With a new 12-week course due to start this month Team leader Pete Ahmed said: “We want to let people know that we are still here and we are looking for more young people to take part in our latest team challenge.”

The free programme runs three times a year and offers unemployed young people aged 16 to 25 the chance to develop their personal skills by working as a team on a series of projects and challenges.

It is delivered at eight locations across the North-East by Stockton Riverside College and provides volunteers with a nationally recognised qualification.

Three in four young people helped by the Prince’s Trust move into work, training or education.

The next course will start on Tuesday, May 6, at 158 Newgate Street.
