A cyclist was airlifted to hospital this afternoon after being involved in a collision with a vehicle.
The man, believed to be in his 20's, suffered a serious leg injury in the incident in Annfield Plain, near Stanley, shortly before 4pm.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called to assist and the injured man reached James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, in 11 minutes. His condition was described as stable.
