GARDEN Farm and West Lane Community Association will hold its annual general meeting at the Garden Farm Hotel, Carlingford Road, Chester-le-Street, on Monday, May 12, at 7pm. This will be followed by a normal monthly meeting at 7.30pm, including a Police and Communities Together (Pact) meeting and a special discussion on the future of the association.

TWO WALKS: Durham Ramblers will do a four-mile leisurely walk through Houghall woods, Durham, on Saturday (May 3) starting from the east end of Houghall Lane at Maiden Castle at 10.30am. FOREST GARDENING: Durham Organic Gardeners’ Association will host a talk by Rachel Benson, from Old Sleningford Farm, near Ripon, titled Forest Gardening at Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, Bowburn, on Wednesday, May 14, at 7.30pm.
