THE Chester-le-Street Theatre Group has renewed its appeal for walking frames for its next production.
It is rehearsing the Mel Brooks classic The Producers, which it will stage in the town's Park View School from Wednesday to Saturday, July 9 to 12.
It is looking for eight frames, which are needed as props in the show, to be donated or borrowed - but so far it only has one.
Bill Watson, the group's press officer, said: “As a last resort we would have to buy them. This would be a major financial blow to a small group such as ours who are entirely self-financing.
We operate to encourage confidence and independence within the local youth and have been operating for 25 years, with the help of the community.”
Loaned frames will be returned and donated frames will be given to appropriate charities. Mr Watson can be contacted on 07722-086035.
Tickets for the show are £9, or £7 for concessions, from the booking secretary on 0191-3883778,
