CREDITS SESSION: Families with children under five are invited to the Willington One Point Children’s Centre on Chapel Street tomorrow(April 25) to find out how the changes to universal credits could affect them. SMASHED WINDOW: Police in Coundon are searching for a group of children all aged between five and eight-years-old one of whom is believed to have smashed a rear window at a house on Howlish View at around 5.30pm on Monday, April 14. They are looking for two girls, one with dark brown shoulder length hair and pink sparkly trousers, the other wearing a bright pink fleece top and light bottoms, and two boys, the first with short black hair and a small pony tail at the back wearing a combat camouflage jacket, the other with dark short hair. Information can be reported to PC Jamie Pitt on 101.

HOUSE DAMAGE: A front window and two at the rear have been smashed at a house on Faraday Street in Ferryhill. The damage was caused at around 7.30pm on Wednesday (April 23). Anyone with information is asked to call PC Jamie Pitt on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.

HISTORY TALK: Judith Bainbridge will present Weardale memorabilia and Anita Atkinson will show her new book celebrating the history of Wolsingham School at Cowshill History Group’s next meeting at 2pm on Monday (April 28) at Cowshill Village Hall. All are welcome. At noon the Anytime Treats club will meet to feast on corned beef pie and veg followed by a dessert for £5.

EXTENDED HOURS: West Durham Youth and Community Resource’s internet cafe will extend its opening hours to include Fridays, from 9.30am to 12.30pm, starting next Friday (May 2). The cafe in Crook is currently open on Thursdays at the centre next to Glenholme Park.
