Adult acting classes for people with some stage experience are being held every Monday during term time from 7pm to 9pm at Middlesbrough Town Hall costing £3 per session. COOKER FIRE: Firefighters were called to Hawthorn Avenue in Thornaby, Stockton, after a cooker was severe damaged by a fire which also caused light smoke damage to the kitchen. Two engines from Thornaby fire station attended the incident at about 9am this morning (Thursday) but the flames were already out on arrival.

STITCH SHOW: Foggy Furze Quilters and Embroiderers are holding an exhibition at the Marine Hotel in Seaton Carew near Hartlepool on May 16 and 17 from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free. There will be a small sale table as well as a raffle and tombola with all proceeds going to the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
