AN entrepreneur hopes to spice up the weekend when his chilli based business lines up at a two day food festival.

Victor Nwosu launched Wiga Wagaa Chilli after friends he cooked for asked him to make extra bottles of his experimental oils and sauces so they could take some home.

Mr Nwosu, of Shotley Bridge, near Consett, said: “I enjoy eating different foods, which I think comes from travelling all around the world.

“I like to experiment with flavours and make different sauces.

“My friends started asking if they could take some home.

"I thought, well, if they like it so much, then maybe other people will too, so it went from there.”

He will be among more than 160 stallholders offering the best in northern food and drink at Bishop Auckland Food Festival on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27.

Organised by Durham County Council in partnership with Auckland Castle Trust and Bishop Auckland Town Council, the festival will be held in the Market Place, Town Hall and the grounds of Auckland Castle.

Mr Nwosu said: “I’ve heard that Bishop Auckland is a great festival.

"I did apply last year but the stalls were full so I’m really excited about being there this weekend.

“I always look forward to the opportunity to let people try something they have never tried before.”
