DELAYS are expected at a busy junction near Darlington after a two car collision.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident on Croft Road, near the Blands Corner roundabout at 9.48am.

Appliances were sent to the scene from Darlington, Newton Aycliffe and Bishop Auckland, including a special rescue team.

One male adult was cut free from his car while a fire service spokeswoman said a female adult from another vehicle was able to walk to an ambulance.

No indication was given about whether the two people involved had suffered any injuries.
