Representatives of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service will be in Harrogate on Friday, April 25, as they consult with the public ahead of a review of fire cover across the county. The service is looking at the number and location of its fire engines and stations and the way both are crewed. They will be at Harrogate Hydro between 9.30am and noon on Friday and at Harrogate Library between 1pm and 3pm the same day. SPRING SALE: Seamer Village Hall, near Stokesley, will be holding a jumble sale on Saturday, April 26, at 2pm. There will be free entry and teas and coffees served. The organisers have same almost everything on sale will be priced at 50p. Proceeds will go towards hall funds.

RESTAURANT FIRE: Fire crews were called to an Indian restaurant in a converted windmill near York at 3.50am this morning (Sunday, April 20). The Spice Mill restaurant, on Landing Lane, Riccall, was well alight when the four fire engines arrived. It took three hours to extinguish. Fire investigation officers are still determining the cause of the fire. Three floors of the windmill were badly damaged.
