THERE was Easter fun across Darlington this weekend as a series of activities took place for families around the town.

The town’s market traders hosted an Easter Eggstraordinary Market, with a performance by the Red Hall Dance School, an Easter egg hunt around the town centre, circus performers and the Easter rabbit.

The event on Saturday was co-ordinated by the organisers of the Sunday People’s Market and the Darlington business improvement district, which teamed up with the usual Saturday outdoor market.

The Easter celebration is the first in a series of events planned for the rest of the year to encourage shoppers to visit the markets.

The Sunday People’s Market will again team up with the outdoor market tomorrow (Monday) for part two of the Eggastrordinary Market – open between 10am and 4pm, the market will again feature circus performers, face painting and performances by the Red Hall Dance School at 1pm and Kellen Dance at 2pm.

Another Easter event at Elim Church, in Bowman Street, Darlington, saw families gather for arts and crafts, Easter bonnet making and face painting and balloon modelling.

The annual event also included live music and storytelling by the Easter chick – also known as Stuart Nelson.
