FIRE fighters across County Durham have been called to a series of blazes tonight, including incidents in Darlington, Willington, Peterlee, Horden and Newton Aycliffe.
Crews in Darlington were called to a fire in a bin cupboard at Dunrobin Close.
One person was evacuated and had to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
In Willington, fire fighters from Crook were called to a blaze in the woods the back of the Victoria Club.
A crew from Peterlee attended reports of a fire on the green at Dene Avenue in Shotton, while a crew from Wheatley Hill was called to a fire outside a block of flats at Bracken Dale Court, Peterlee.
Two crews from Peterlee also attended a kitchen fire at Park Terrace in Horden.
A small fire in the grill pan of the cooker left the appliance badly damaged.
Elsewhere, a crew was called to the woods just off Burn Lane in Newton Aycliffe, where there was said to be a small fire.
