CHARITY CHALLENGE: Lauren Abel
REIGNING Miss Durham Lauren Abel is hoping to represent Darlington in the finals of Miss England.
She hopes that competing in the final of the Miss 24 Carat pageant, on May 10, will help pave the way for her to reach the Miss England finals.
She said: "A major part of the Miss 24 Carat and Miss England competitions is the fundraising and charity work.
"I have been fundraising on behalf of the Miss World charity Beauty With A Purpose, which continues to support disadvantaged children in the UK."
She recently swapped her tiara for a tracksuit and took on the obstacle course at Adrenaline North Yorkshire, near Richmond.
