VOLUNTEERS helped to prepare an amateur cricket club for the coming season with a spring clean of its facilities.
Nearly 40 helpers joined staff at Tudhoe Cricket Club’s St Charles Road ground, where they carried out essential jobs such as decorating the tea room.
The spring clean was part of the Natwest CricketForce 2014 event, which aimed to encourage members of the community to help clubs get ready for the new season.
Club volunteer Lynne Newton said: “It was very successful and the 40 volunteers helped us to do about 90 per cent of the jobs we wanted to get completed.”
