THE second Consett Festival featuring a day of live music is being held at the end of the month.

Consett Rugby Club at Belle Vue Park on Ashdale Road is hosting the event on Saturday, April 26 from 11am.

The line-up includes The Ska-Toons, The Whodlums, Acoustic Weller, Joe and Olly, Hannah Lamb, Thin Man, Katie Stafford, Jen Stevens and The Hiccups, Consett Phoenix Youth, The Me Me's, Slow Moving Targets, Meghan and Peculiar Disco Moves.

There will be two stages, family activities and an opportunity for local traders and business people to promote their services.

People can expect a range of stalls selling home made jewellery, knit wear, paintings, photographs, music and musical instruments, cakes, personalised pets accessories and local band merchandise.

As well as the standard bar drinks there will be a real ale tent supplying locally produced ales and ciders as well as a range of fresh hot and cold foods.

Tickets cost £7 for adults and £4 for 13 to 17 year olds, while under 13s go free.

The previous evening there will be an acoustic evening at the club with sets from Driven Serious, Gilded Thieves, Gary Grainger and Friends, Kindred, and Chris Justice. Tickets for the Friday evening, which starts at 5pm, cost £4.
