A MAN involved in a Boxing Day disturbance in which he inflicted an injury with a knife was today (Tuesday April 8) told to expect a prison sentence.
The warning was given to Marc William Blades after he admitted a charge of unlawful and malicious wounding.
He denied the more serious charge of wounding with intent, but prosecution barrister Richard Bennett said his pleas were considered “acceptable” by the Crown.
It stems from an incident in Shotton Colliery, County Durham, on December 26 in which the victim suffered a leg injury.
Adjourning for the preparation of probation and psychiatric reports on the defendant, Judge Christopher Prince told him: “You will be sentenced here in two months time and you should expect to receive a custodial sentence.”
He bailed 38-year-old Blades, of Potto Street, Shotton Colliery, to return for sentence on Friday June 6.
