THIRSK Town Council is seeking to co-opt a member following the retirement of Alan Morton, who served the authority for 20 years. CRAFT FAIR: The residents of Maple Creek sheltered housing at Red Lane, Masham, are holding a craft fair on Saturday (April 12) from 11am to 3pm, to raise funds for Macmillan nurses. REFLECTIVE WALK: A Walk of Witness will be held on Good Friday (April 18), from 9.30am, starting at Sowerby War Memorial. People are welcome to join the walk, which will stop at several places for readings, before it reaches Thirsk Market Place.

EASTER EVENT: An Easter Celebration, featuring community singing, will be held at Thirsk Market Place on Easter Sunday, (April 20) at 3pm.

CHILDREN'S DISPLAY: An art exhibition showcasing pupils' work inspired by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare will be staged at Rural Arts, Thirsk, until May 5. The display, which will feature artworks by children at Thirsk School and Sixth Form College and Kirkbymoorside, Great Ouseburn and Green Hammerton primary schools.
