POLICE have turned to the public for help after a lorry and thousands of pounds worth of lead were stolen from a depot near Whitby.
The raiders struck at Wilf Noble Building Supplies on Sneaton Lane, Ruswarp, sometime between 2am and 3am on April 7.
They broke into the yard and stolen a red, four-axle Scania flat-bed lorry with a Hiab lift, with the words Wilf Noble on the side. They also took more than 100, six-metre rolls of lead valued at around £7,000.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle, bearing the registration RX53 UJA, leaving Ruswarp, or knows of its current whereabouts to contact them.
They also want to hear from anyone who has any information about the burglary and anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the hours leading up to the break-in.
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC David Anderson, or email david.anderson@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
