A WOMAN will tackle this weekend’s London Marathon for a charity which has helped her father cope with terminal cancer.

Rebecca Williams will attempt the 26.2-mile course through the capital on Sunday (April 13) in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The 36-year-old’s father, Bob Williams, was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in September 2012.

Miss Williams, from Durham, said: “I want to do whatever I can to help people like my dad.

“I can’t make him better but I can raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK.”

Sunday will be Miss Williams’ fifth marathon and her father will be in London to support her.

Mr Williams said: “I am so proud of Rebecca. Her determination is amazing and we are both delighted with the support of family, friends and strangers who have kindly supported her marathon effort.”
