CHARITY TREK: Three walkers will arrive at a North-East nature reserve on Thursday after a 300-mile trek from Suffolk to raise funds for the RSPB.
Jonny Rankin, who grew up in County Durham but now lives in Suffolk, is raising funds along with two friends for Operation Turtle Dove, a project launched by conservation charities to save the European turtle dove, which breeds in the UK.
The trio left RSPB Lakenheath Fen on March 29 to start the 13-day journey to RSPB Saltholme, in Teesside.
Other fund raising activities they have done include a 24-hour Bird Race, turtle dove tattoos and half marathons.
