A thief smashed a piece of concrete through the window of parked van on Aldbrough Walk, Darlington, and police would like to speak to a possible witness.
The vehicle was broken into at about 12.30pm on April 3 and several parcels were stolen from inside.
When the owner returned to the van, a woman approached and said she had witnessed the crime but did not leave any contact details.

ADOPTION ADVICE: A drop-in information evening for people interested in adopting a child in Darlington is being held at the town hall on Tuesday.
It will be in committee room three and will run from 6pm to 8pm.
LEAD STOLEN: Police are appealing for information after lead flashing was stolen from a Darlington pub.
It was taken from a ground floor bay window of the White Heifer pub at Tillage Green some time between 11pm on March 16 and 8am on March 19.
If anyone has any information that could help the police investigation, contact 101.
RESIDENTS RESPONSES: Darlington Neighbourhood Watch Association has launched a survey to find out how residents would like to see the organisation develop.
