THE mother of a missing student has said she will “never give up” searching for her son.

Mathew Jordan, 20, of Middlesbrough, went missing from the Stag’s Head Pub in Bowness, Cumbria, on Thursday, March 27 at 12.30am.

It has emerged that the Teesside University student became separated from his three friends.

The criminology student had money on him but his phone was flat. He asked one establishment to use a phone charger and for a taxi to be ordered. Later he asked another business for a room for the night, but none of his requests were granted.

At an appeal organised by Cumbria Police on Wednesday, April 2, his mother, Claire, said: “Matthew is our world. We love you Matthew. We will find you and we will never give up looking for you.”

Matthew's father, Bob, and uncle Darren Robinson, are all helping search for him in the Bowness area.

Detective inspector Raz Nazir, from Cumbria Police, said all the friends had been described as polite and there was no suggestion they had fallen out. Matthew’s friends thought he had gone to the toilet at the pub.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
