CLEAN UP: Barnard Castle Town Council has organised a litter pick on the Scar Top and surrounding river bank area on Saturday, April 5, from 10am to noon. It is part of Litter Free Durham's Big Spring Clean 2014. The event is suitable for all ages and families are welcome. The town council will provide the tools but thoses taking part should wear suitable clothing. Meet at the main entrance to Scar Top at 10am.
TWITTER TIME: A new business networking initiative using social media has been launched in Teesdale. #Teesdaletime uses Twitter to connect businesses and takes place once a week, 2pm to 3pm on Thursdays. It was established following a pilot session to gauge interest.
SHOW TIME: The Carillon Singing Group will perform a mix of old and new songs at St Romald's Church, Romaldkirk, on Saturday, April 5, at 7.30pm. Admission is free but donations will go to the Sweet Pea fund.

EASTER ACTIVITIES: Free sports and street dance sessions are available at Teesdale School, Barnard Castle, for youngsters aged nine-12 on Wednesday, April 9. HOP TO IT: St Osmund's Pre-School, Gainford, is hosting an Easter-themed afternoon on Saturday, April 5, from 2pm to 5pm, in the village hall. There will be a baby and child nearly new sale, various stalls of children's toys, clothing and accessories, crafts and a mystery hunt. The easter bunny is expected to hop along at about 2.30pm. Admission is £1 and free for the under-12s.
