CROSSGATE Community Partnership will meet in North Road Methodist Church, North Road, Durham, on Monday (April 7) at 7.45pm. There will be discussion of the ongoing traffic problems on Waddington Street and the proposed redevelopment of the former County Hospital site.
DIABETES UK: The next meeting of the Diabetes UK Durham voluntary group will be held in the diabetes centre at the University Hospital of North Durham, Durham City, on Tuesday (April 8) at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Ann Taylor, from the northern regional office of Diabetes UK in Darlington. She will give an update on the work of Diabetes UK. All with an interest in diabetes are welcome. There will be refreshments afterwards.
HOSPITAL CHAPLAIN: Rev Remi Omole has been appointed chaplain to Sunderland Royal Hospital and will take up the role on Tuesday, April 15. Meanwhile, Rev Jonathan Lawson, previously chaplain to Durham University’s St Hild and St Bede College, has been appointed vicar of Heaton St Gabriel’s Church, Newcastle. He will switch in May.
SUNDAY RAMBLE: Durham Ramblers will do a nine-mile walk around Bellingham, Northumberland, on Sunday (April 6) starting at the heritage centre, Bellingham, at 10.30am. Call Richard Fletcher on 0191-384-3193 or 07974-352-372.
