A WOMAN passenger who died in a fatal motorcycle collision yesterday (Sunday) was 55 and from Scarborough.

The crash happened at around 4.30pm on Sunday, March 30 on the A170 at the junction with Marton Road in the village of Sinnington, between Pickering and Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.

The rider of the bike was the woman’s husband, aged 63 and from Scarborough. He is in Hull Royal Infirmary in a serious but stable condition.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.

A dark coloured Land Rover Discovery was travelling through Sinnington and turning right into Marton Road when it was in collision with a dark coloured Kawasaki motorcycle which was travelling towards Pickering.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw either vehicle prior to impact or who saw the collision take place.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for the major collision investigation team.

The road was closed to allow the casualties to be recovered and for collision investigators to examine the scene. It reopened at around 1.30am today.
