OVER 140 runners young and old were involved in the Bedale and Aiskew Running Sport Relief event.
There were plenty of other attractions for the runners and their supporters, with musical entertainment from Bedale Brass Band.
The tombola was very popular, along with the bouncy castle and most important the refreshment stand.
After a very thorough mass warm by Christian Creaby and Michael Anderson of Peak Military Fitness the first mile race started in bright sunshine.
More than 100 runners completed the three lap course with ten-year-old Peter Wordall from Romanby crossing the line first.
The three mile and six mile events started together making their way over the fields towards Crakehall, with nine-year-old Arthur Llewellyn outsprinting his father, Mark, at the finish.
The six mile race saw Frederick Van Zyl from Aiskew finish first in just under 40 minutes, with first lady home Charlotte Wardle in 45 minutes.
A second one mile event took place with Billy Budworth of Leeming Bar first over the finishing line. Meanwhile the youngsters were involved in a variety of fun races to make sure they had their exercise quota for the day.
Organisers, Richard Woods and Daren Rosamond, thanked everyone who took part and said they were pleased with the way the day had gone. On the day just under £500 was raised.
