TWO choirs are to join forces for a concert in aid of a lung charity.
The Sing for Life Choir will be joined by the Thorpe Thewles Pop Choir at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church Hall, Cockton Hill Road, on Tuesday, April 1, at 7.30pm.
The programme will include a selection of modern, classical and pop and there will be an opportunity for the audience to join in. The mayor of Bishop Auckland, councilor David Fleming will be the special quest.
Organised by Breathe Easy Durham Dales, proceeds will go to the British Lung Foundation.
Last year, the concert raised £600 for the charity and the group raised a further £500, which was donated Durham Dales respiratory needs.
The group's chairman Harry Brown said: "Many people with respiratory ailments feel isolated and stranded, so the group helps get them out of the house and mixing with people with similar issues."
The group meets in Bishop Auckland Methodist Church on the first Thursday of the month, from 2pm to 3.30pm. It also holds an exercise class in Woodhouse Close Church Hall, every Tuesday, from 2pm to 3.30pm.
