THE Governors of Hartlepool Sixth Form College have announced the appointment of Alex Fau-Goodwin as the college’s new principal.

He is currently at South Cheshire College, in Crewe, another high performing college, where he has been vice principal for the last five years.

Chairman, Jonathan Brash welcomed Alex and said “I am delighted to be appointing a person of Alex's talent, drive and ambition and I know he will be an invaluable asset to our college.”

Alex will take up his new post in September but over the next few months he will be working closely with acting principal Carole Horseman to ensure a smooth transition.

Alex said, “I am excited and privileged to be appointed principal of such a high achieving sixth form college. I look forward to working with staff, students, governors and parents in not only sustaining excellence but also in ensuring the college is able to face future challenges with confidence.”

“I firmly believe that high performing colleges such as Hartlepool Sixth Form College provide the very best opportunities for our young people in terms of education, social and moral development, so that they can emerge as confident young adults ready to face a challenging and often uncertain world.”
