NIGHT club revellers could hold the clue as to how a man was left with serious injuries.

The victim fell forwards onto the floor of Club Amadeus, in Northallerton, in front of other clubbers during the early hours of Sunday (March 23) at around 2.10am.

Police have arrested a man in his twenties from Darlington in connection with the incident.

The injured man was taken to the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, before being transferred to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, where his condition is “serious but stable”.

Police want to hear from anyone in the club at the time, and are asking for help with three specific appeals.

Detectives say they need to find out what caused the victim to fall over and to talk to anyone who saw him immediately before.

They also want to know if anyone saw another man leave the club very quickly immediately after the incident.

They also want a woman to contact them seen in the company of a man before they both fell over on the dance floor together, around four to five minutes before the victim was injured.

Detective Sergeant Simon Hepburn of Northallerton CID, said: “We urge anyone who was in the club at the time to get in touch, even if they think their information is insignificant, please contact us as it could be very important to our enquiries.

“It’s also important that we trace the woman who was seen to fall over as she could have important information which could assist our enquiries. The victim has sustained a serious head injury and it’s vital that we find out exactly what happened to him.”

The man who was arrested has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
