A CHILDREN’S hospice has received a belated Christmas presents when motorbike-loving charity fundraisers handed over the money from their annual Santa Run.

More than 200 members of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group took to the roads of Thornaby, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar last December on their annual ride.

Retired police officer and founder member Brian Laverick organised for the cheque, worth more than £25,000, to be presented at the base of the Middlesbrough District Motor Club over the weekend.

The group, which was launched in 2006, broke through the £500,000 barrier for cash raised for its two nominated charities - Zoe's Place and the Great North Air Ambulance Service – will the money raised from the annual bike ride.
