SUNDERLAND AFC’S official charity is challenging North-East youngsters to rethink their racial stereotyping.
As part of European-wide Action Against Racism Week, the Foundation of Light’s Tackle It team visited East Herrington Primary Academy, in Sunderland.
There, pupils were asked to guess a person’s nationality, job and personality traits based on a picture of their face.
The session was followed by a game of handball.
Teacher Neil Iceton said: “It’s important to educate people on issues such as racism from a young age and it’s great to be able to work with the Foundation of Light to do that in a way which is both fun and engaging.”
