A charity zumbathon is taking place at the Mercure King's Hotel in Priestgate on Sunday.

It will run from 1pm to 4pm and costs £8 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

The hotel has donated the room for free so all proceeds will go to Children with Cancer.

The event has been organised by marathon runner Gillian Clason who has raised £43,000 for Children with Cancer in recent years.

CHARITY CHEQUE: St Teresa’s Hospice has benefitted from almost £1,500 raised by the Darlington lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.

The hospice was the Buffaloes’ 2013 chosen charity and members organised a range of fundraising events throughout the year including an artist night and domino cards at the Copper Beech.

CHORAL CONCERT: Tickets are now onsale for the next Darlington Choral Society concert, with Darlington Sinfonia Orchestra.

It takes place at The Dolphin Centre on April 12 at 7.15pm at tickets cost £12, or for £5 students, and are available from the leisure centre, Footprints bookshop on Skinnergate and on the door.

FESTIVAL FUN: Activities from the Spring Thing Folk Festival will spill over into Sainsbury’s on Victoria Road this Saturday.

Between 11am and 1pm there will be a host of entertainers instore including morris dancers, Appalachian ladies teams and Rapper short sword dancers.
