STAYING safe on the internet was the subject of a special presentation by three teenagers when they spoke to pupils at a rural primary school.

Alec Sabey, Lotte Evans and Jack Parker highlighted issues including stranger danger and sharing personal details online when the spoke to pupils at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School, County Durham.

The trio, who all attend Teesdale School, Barnard Castle, visited the primary pupils as part of Europe-wide Safer Internet Day.

As well as the presentation, a number of interactive activities took place involving all pupils at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary.

Ian Bain, head of ICT at Teesdale School, said the event helped the young children to understand the dangers of the internet.

He said: “We hope as a result of this, young people will take greater precautions when venturing online.”
